Creative Challenge: Day Fifteen

I've shared a lot of projects this month for celebrations and special occasions. It is always so nice to receive mail for a birthday, good luck or thank you. But I think some of the best cards are the ones that arrive in your mailbox for no reason at all.

I was intrigued when the Paper Source blog posted about unusual paper collections. I had never taken notice to the insides of junk/security mail envelopes until now. Fortunately, for waste purposes, I don't get a lot of junk but for the purpose of wanting to make something with them it was unfortunate. At long last I received two envelopes! I decided to make the envelopes into some cards to send out just because.
First, I cut the usable parts of the envelopes into strips.
I glued the strips onto a card at an angle. Once dry, I cut off the excess.

Final product - simple, cute cards that were once boring envelopes!

I plan to make more of these. The world needs a lot more just because mail and whole lot less junk mail.

Side note: Similar style card could also be made using happy tape.

What a great idea!! I will actually have be intrigued the next time I receive junk mail. This is also a wonderful idea just for the random pieces of paper we always have from our projects!
