Creative Challenge: Day Eleven

In honor of the CU/Cal game, Jess and I thought it would be fun to make t-shirts. Between the two of us, we've made our fair share of t-shirts for events: St Patty's day, the Super Bowl, baseball games and more.

CU fans were encouraged to wear black for the game (aka a blackout). Our original thought was to buy black CU shirts and iron on letters, with a clever saying on the back of the shirts. After a minor shipping fiasco, we decided to buy shirts and have a clever saying on the front and back.

Inspired by the Beach Boy's song California Girls and to clear up any confusion as to where the BEST girls really come from, we went with...
WISH THEY ALL COULD BE...
COLORADO GIRLS
Despite the dismal performance by the buffalo's traveling squad (i mean really, they were horrible), we still had a lot of fun and looked super cute in our shirts! Win or lose, I'm still proud to be a Colorado girl.

Chip the champ

The University of Colorado may not be anywhere near defending a National Championship on the football field, but have you seen our mascot in action?

Last weekend the beloved CU mascot, Chip, won the Mascot National Championship title for the second year in a row! Now we're not talking the CapitalOne text in your vote type of challege. This is an actual routine with music, props and ....I guess you'd say talent! While the dance moves aren't too complex, it's pretty impressive that someone is dancing in that huge costume. When you set that to songs like Hammer Time and Party in the USA it's an unbeatable combination! Check out the winning routine here.

In my opinion, Chip has always been a winner. It's nice to see him getting the street cred' he deserves!

Shoulder to shoulder we will drink, drink, drink?

Every year the Princeton Review does a poll of the nations Top Party Schools. The 2009 results are in and University of Colorado, Boulder has, not surprisingly, made the list. It brought a smile to my face to see that we were on the list and just above the University of Iowa where Brian attended (not that I'm competitive).

I must be getting old, because I was most proud that we weren't the #1 school. At one point while I was at CU we were ranked #1. I remember at the time it seemed like such a big deal. Now that I am old and oh-so-wise, I think CU has so much more to be proud of than our ability to party. Such as our renowned academics, beautiful campus and school spirit. I know polls like these are exciting when you're a student and also appeal to incoming students. So cheers to you partiers. Please have a drink for me at the Sink but do us all a favor and also do your homework!
