My favorite Wall Art Calendar!

It's that time of year again: Pumpkin Spice Lattes, fall leaves, boots, scarves and the new PS Wall Art Calendar!! You would think I am getting a free calendar for as much as I continue to profess my love for them year after year. Unfortunately I do not, and that's ok. To me its worth the $29.50 to have a beautiful, recycled paper (100% recycled material, 30% post consume) calendar while at work and also completely reusable (templates on the back of each month); it's a no brainer for this tree hugging, paper lover.
2012 Paper Source Wall Art Calendar

As you can see, the 2012 calendar does not disappoint! I especially love June's sea theme, July's gray and green, September's owls (Ash!) and the Aspen trees in November.

Before I allowed myself to buy the 2012 calendar for my future workspace, I made a deal with myself to use all of the old calendars I had on hand. You may remember I did this last year as part of the challenge (see here). So why would I have extra calendar pages to use? Well my friend/coworker fell in love with the calendar and bought one for herself. She's not extremely crafty so she gave me her calendar at the end of the year.

In the spirit of sharing is caring, a commonly used line by said friend/coworker, I decided to make all the cards, gift tags, pillow and square boxes to give back to her. I spent about two hours in front of the tv cutting, folding and gluing them all together.

Once they were dry I stacked them together and wrapped them with gray twine to look like gifts
!
I left them on her work chair first thing in the morning. She was so surprised I still had them and then proceeded to cry. I got teary eyed too, beautiful paper can do that! Ok, its actually because I'm leaving in a few days. I will miss her dearly and am so happy I was able to make her day by regifting her own calendar, in gift box form. Like paper, friendship is a beautiful thing.

Creative Challenge: Day Eight

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE my Paper Source wall calendar? It's the gift that keeps on giving. Here are a few more reason to love it. I finally tore off the months that have passed this year. A beautiful array, wouldn't you say?

I decided it was time to make use of all this gorgeous paper. On the back of each month is a templates to make gift boxes, file folders and a variety of cards. I followed some of the templates and created a few of my own. Here's what I made...
It was so fun to make all of these! And it got me thinking: it's time to start building a stock pile of cards and gift boxes/wrap for when events come up (these suckers are going in the 'pile) AND maybe at the end of this month I should share the love and giveaway a 2011 wall art calendar! Hmmmm...stay tuned.

I love...

my new PS wall calendar! Makes my carpeted cubical walls much more bright and cheery. I know we're only 8 days in, but 2010 is looking GOOD to me.

Thanks, B!

Paper Dolls

Last week while babysitting the cutest kids in Piedmont, I had the pleasure of making paper dolls. Not just ordinary paper dolls, but Paper Source paper dolls!
Per our usual routine, once I put E (3 yr old boy) to bed, R (almost 7 yr old) and I have about 45 mins of girl time. We usually play a game, read books or I braid her hair. This time she said, "I have an idea!" I'm thinking...checkers? Monopoly? A book I won't pronounce the character names correctly?
And then she busts out this awesome paper dolls kit...

I was beyond excited as she showed me the dolls she'd already made, the variety of fun paper you can use to create the perfect outfit and accessories, and finally the easy to use stencils.
R and I made twin dolls. It was so fun to see her in creativity in action. She even suggested we use pencil to trace instead of pen, easier to erase. Girl after my own perfectionist heart!

If you are looking for an interactive gift for a young girl in your life, check these out. It's a gift that's fun for everyone! Orrr maybe just paper lovers/kids-at-heart like myself :)

It's never too early...

to buy an adorable 2010 wall calendar! I actually have a hard time thinking about my calendar for the new year, but one look at my lame work calendar and I'm eager for something new.

This gem comes from Paper Source and is completely reusable. Once the month is over, use the beautiful prints to wrap a gift, make a card or create a handy file folder.

You can order the calendar online or better yet, in their store where you can fall even farther in love with their paper!
